The use of cell phones is permitted within the Library. However, we ask that you limit cell phone conversations to the private study rooms or the front entrance area to not disturb other library patrons.
You must wear headphones or ear buds if listening to music or other audio from your cell phone or other device. Cell phones may only be used on speaker in a private study room on a volume low enough to not disturb other patrons. Please note that most study rooms are not soundproof.
If you wish for privacy for a call or video meeting, please consider booking the Recording Room which has soundproofing.
Please set cell phones to silent or vibrate to not disturb others using the library.
You may not take photographs, video, or audio recordings of other patrons or staff within the Library without their direct permission.
You may use your phone or another device to scan materials.
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that a photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept an interlibrary loan request if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
