Important Information on Changing a Course

It is crucial that you pay attention to drop/add policies so that you can register for the courses you need and want, and don’t have to pay unexpected tuition charges.

  • You can adjust your schedule online in Self-Service before the start of the semester.
  • If you would like to add/drop a course after the start of the semester, please talk to your advisor and fill out this form in myNU (must be signed in to access the link, after signing in please click on the link).
  • If you withdraw from a course after the drop/add period, but before the end of the 10th week of the semester, you will receive a grade of W, which does not count in your GPA.
  • From the 11th week and after, if you are passing the course, you can still withdraw and receive a W, in consultation with the professor and your advisor.
  • From the 11th week and after, if you are failing the course, you can still withdraw, but you will receive an F

What is a Registration Hold?

A registration hold is a block placed on a college student’s account that prevents them from registering for classes. This hold can be applied for

  • Unpaid fees
  • Not meeting with your academic advisor
  • Academic probation
  • Other incomplete requirements

These matters must be dealt with before you can successfully register for courses in Self-Service
