Citing Sources

The main factor that means the difference between plagiarism and not-plagiarism is citations! If you are always sure to cite your information, you should never need to worry about getting in trouble for plagiarism.

Fortunately, citation instructions are easy to find, whether you need to use APA, MLA or Chicago style. The library has manuals for each, both on the shelves and at the library's Writing Center. In addition, we have links to some reputable websites where you can also get information.

As an NU student, you have another resource to help with citations: NoodleTools. When you use it to keep track of your sources and notes, it can automatically generate citations in whichever format is required for your assignment. Check out these short videos on how to use this useful source.
