Alumni and Guest Services

Welcome to Niagara University Library

Niagara University welcomes alumni and community members to use the Library.

The following services are available to you:

  • Access to the building during staffed hours.
  • Access to study and work spaces except group study rooms, which are reserved for currently enrolled students.
  • Computer use.
  • Printing and photocopying (charges may apply).
  • Basic research assistance.
  • Access to Library databases while on campus.

Borrowing Library Materials

To borrow Library materials, you can obtain a Courtesy Card at our Service Desk during staffed hours. (If you would like to save a little time, you can print and fill out the Courtesy Card Application before coming in.)

Accessing Databases

  • Remote access to Library databases is limited to currently enrolled students. You can, however, use Library databases on site.
  • Your local public library likely offers remote access to numerous databases.
  • If you are a resident of New York State, you can search selected databases simply by providing your New York driver license or non-driver ID number here: http://www.novelnewyork.org/. You may not even have to use your New York State ID as the system often recognizes the location of your computer.
  • Any person who lives, works, attends school or pays property taxes in New York State is eligible to receive a New York Public Library card free of charge. You then will have remote access to a large collection of databases.
