This guide will provide you with information related to the library portion of this course. You will also find your library assignment that is due for completion.

Citing Your Sources

Format your paper and cite your sources according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. (Ask a reference librarian where it is located.) This manual is the definitive source. The official manual is not online, though APA does provide some guidance on its website:

http://www.apastyle.org/learn/faqs/index.aspx

Here is a helpful guide from The Purdue Online Writing lab at Purdue University:

Tip: Please talk to your professor if you have questions about how to cite your sources.

Subscription Citation Manager

NU Library subscribes to NoodleTools because it is more accurate in the creation of citations than the free ones available online are. Other options it provides:

  • Generates a properly formatted Reference page upon completion
  • Online folder to hold all of your citations
  • Allows for collaboration among peers or a course professor
  • Cloud-based so you can access your file from any computer

NOTE: In order to have accurate citations, you must input the correct citation information into the correct boxes. If you aren't sure if a citation is correct double check for accuracy from the Purdue University Online Writing Lab (OWL). This free citation manual provides descriptions to create your own citations from scratch as well as examples to compare what your selected citation generator provides.
